The class started with instructions regarding the fifth evaluation and the activities to complete our grades. Then, we moved on to the question “Why is grammar important?”.
We watch a video from BJU Press Homeschool in which the speaker explains that grammar provides us with the structure to express ourselves and communicate a clear message. Some classmates share their opinions and experiences when learning grammar. Everybody agreed that grammar is super important, but what is most important to know how to teach it effectively.
My comments
Personally, grammar has always been hard for me; it is difficult to remember all those rules and exceptions. That is why I expect to teach grammar inductively as a teacher. It is way easier to acquire vocabulary and functions of the language, and then, understand why something is spelled, or pronounce in the way it does.
